Regen Melbourne's initiative to restore Birrarung (Yarra River) to its pre-colonial health, with the goal of making it swimmable again, is brought to life through a comprehensive campaign identity across print and digital media.
The visual language is built around an illustrative pattern featuring hidden Melbourne landmarks, creating moments of discovery while grounding the identity in place. The palette is drawn from the Australian landscape and Aboriginal water art, blue represents the ever-flowing river and its future swimmable waters, while rusty ochre reflects the Australian soil.
Together, these elements create a visual identity that celebrates the local environment, fosters a sense of community, and pays homage to the cultural and historical significance of the Birrarung to the First Nations Peoples.
